Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Trip Tools website, browser extension, and related services (collectively, the "Services") operated by POMDP, Inc. ("The Company", "we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services at any time without liability.

Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms. Account holders are responsible for all activity under their account, including use by minors.

Account Security

You are solely responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your account, as it is used for sign-in verification. You are also responsible for safeguarding any API keys generated for your account, including those used by the browser extension. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized access to your account or misuse of your API keys.

Our Content

All materials published in the Services, including but not limited to the user interface, design, graphics, and software, are protected by copyright and owned or controlled by The Company. You may not modify, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from these materials without our express written permission.

Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create, including trip information, journal entries, photos, and other materials ("Your Content"). By using the Services, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you and to users you explicitly authorize to view or collaborate on your trips.

You represent that you have the right to share any content you upload and that Your Content does not violate any third party's rights or any applicable laws.

Sharing and Collaboration

The Services allow you to invite others to view or collaborate on your trips. You are responsible for managing who has access to Your Content. We are not responsible for how invited users may use or share information you provide them access to.

Browser Extension

The Trip Tools browser extension accesses third-party websites on your behalf to help you collect and organize travel information. You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of any third-party websites you access through the extension. The extension uses your browser's existing sessions to access these services; we do not store third-party credentials.

Third-Party Services

The Services integrate with third-party platforms such as Google Maps and Google My Maps. Your use of these integrations is also subject to those platforms' terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or changes to third-party services.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or other users' accounts
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Services
• Use automated tools to scrape or collect data from the Services
• Abuse sharing features to spam or harass invitees
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Services

Open Source

Portions of Trip Tools are available as open source software under the MIT License. Your use of the open source code is governed by that license. These Terms govern your use of the hosted Services.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy of travel information or third-party data accessed through the Services.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
